Joan Camp Horn, beloved wife and friend of 46 years to George Horn of Hamden, died Thursday May 30, 2013 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Joan was born May 3, 1932 in New Haven, daughter of the late Herbert W. and Lillian Kidney Camp. She worked for over 30 years as a loan officer at New Haven Savings Bank prior to her retirement. Joan's wonderful spirit leaves behind many loved ones whose lives she touched, including her brother, Charles "Chuck" Camp, and his wife Dottie, longtime friends Barbara and Bob Savino; sisters-in-law Dorothy Masci, Mary Keller, Marianne Horn, and Ann Horn; brothers-in-law, Robert and Peter Horn. Other special friends include, Ann and Ken Fine, Rose and Junie Festa, Adele Mirando and Mary Ercolano, and all her friends from her years at the bank. For the years she spent keeping appointments at the Scissors Palace-a special thanks to Marie, Agatha and Barbara. Joan was a generous and loving soul to the many nieces and nephews she had in her life who will miss her dearly. Thank you to the nurses and nurse's assistants at the Smilow Cancer Center, YNHH N. P. 14th Floor for all their generous care Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 pm with a Memorial Service at 7 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to your local humane society.
