Joan M. Cicco, 71, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Cicco, Jr., (April 16, 2010) of South Windsor, died Saturday (April 17, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Quincy, MA on August 22, 1938, daughter of the late A. Leavit and Evelyn (Cahill) MacLeod, she had lived in South Windsor for the past 50 years. She was a caring and loving stay-at-home-mom for her children until they became kind and loving adults. After that, she was a Recreational Activity Director at a local nursing home, before retiring. Joan enjoyed being a Mom, she was a Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Leader and enjoyed all of her children's school activities. Joan was a loving and generous grandmother. Joan was a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, walking and especially reading. She and her husband, Joseph were to celebrate their 50th anniversary by renewing their wedding vows next Sunday at their church. She leaves her children, Joseph A. Cicco, III and his wife, Bonnie of Wethersfield, Judy Cicco, Jill Carducci and her husband, Donato and Jennifer Dickison and husband, Gary all of South Windsor; two sisters, Kathleen Emery and her husband, Lloyd of Hull, MA and Alice Borden and her husband, Putnam of Quincy, MA; five grandchildren, Alicia Cary of South Windsor, Anthony Tony , Christopher Cicco of Wethersfield and Chesley and Danny Carducci of South Windsor and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children, John, Jeffrey, Janice and Kerri Cicco and Jacqueline (Cicco) Cary.
