Phyllis Joanne "Jo" Huffer, 67, of Waynesboro passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Augusta Health.

Born January 20, 1950 in Waynesboro she was the daughter of Bessie (Smith) Pannell and the late Carlton Calvin Pannell.

Joanne was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was a faithful employee of Hershey Chocolate of Virginia. She enjoyed picnics, family reunions, sitting on her front porch and watching NFL football (Go Steelers!) and NBA basketball. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend to many.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her two daughters, Joanne A. "Lisa" (Huffer) Fix and husband, Jeremy of Lyndhurst and Tonya D. "Tater" (Huffer) Lambert and husband, Daryl of Mt. Sidney; sister, Shirley P. Cox and husband, Mike of Afton; nephew, Frank Cox and wife, Annette and family; niece, Kim Conner and husband, John and family; as well as other beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Rodes United Methodist Church, Afton with Rev. Lowell Petry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Pannell, William Pannell, Jr., Ernest Gerald Pannell, Billy Smith, Kendal Lambert and Randal Lambert.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
