Joe Richard Clark, 85, of McGregor, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Funeral services will be 2pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017, College Avenue Baptist Church, McGregor. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday, May 26, 2017, Cole Funeral Home, McGregor.

Joe was born in Wenatchee, Washington on September 11, 1931 to William and Julia Newell Clark. He was a graduate of Wenatchee High School, married Loretta Kees on January 22, 1953. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, served two tours in Korea and two tours in Viet Nam, and retired as a Sergeant First Class (E7) after 20 years of service. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Bronze Good Conduct Medal Clasp, and Rifle Expert. Joe retired after nine years with McGregor ISD as a bus monitor and from Smead Manufacturing after 24 years as a foreman. He loved reading; fishing, puzzles, his family, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and he loved to talk to people. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, T.J. Burson; and brothers, James Clark and David Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Loretta; daughters, Maxine Smith and Tommy, Sharon Goff and David, Patricia Bearden and Keith; son, William Alton "Billy" Clark and Robin; grandchildren, John Goff and Jodi, Jake Burson and Brandi, Jeff Goff and Stephanie, Staci Bottoms and Tim, Josh Burson, Heather Thomasson and Skyler, Trista Edwards and Cody, Dusty Bearden and Jennifer, Patrick Bearden, Nic Clark and Lauren, Zac Clark and Jeanette; 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and sister, Anita Wacholz of Wenatchee, Washington.
