Joe S. Soto died December 24, 2017. He was born in Royse City, Texas on March 24, 1927 to Benjamine and Maria Soto.

Joe grew up all over as a farm worker. He enlisted into the US Army Air Corp and served in Patton's 3rd Army. When the Air Force division was created he moved to that branch. While serving he received his GED and met Bonifacia Benavidez through her cousin. They dated for one and a half years before getting married on September 27, 1960 in Salina, KS.

After 20 years in the US Air Force he retired and began working for American Airlines where he worked 20 years before retiring. In the later part of his life he spent 15 years as a crossing guard for GPISD. Joe was a good husband and disciplinary father who enjoyed hosting parties. Joe was a serious man who above all loved his family. He was a lifetime member of VFW and a long time member congressional Methodist Church of Grand Prairie.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother Maria Salazar Soto, father Benjamine Soto, daughter Jo Annie Soto, grandson Aidan Miller, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his wife Bonifacia Soto; children: Mary Thayer and her husband, George, Tina Dickie and her husband, Brian, Elizabeth Dean and her husband, Grady, Ted Ruiz and his wife, Lupe, Eva Soto; step-children: Andrew Gonzales and Teresa Gonzales; grandchildren: Anna Weathers and her husband, Kevin, Amanda Reyna, Ryan Cox, Christopher Cox, Ashton Miller; great-grandchildren: Jessie Reyna-Critz, Ariana Weathers, Gloria Torres and Eliza Torres.
