John Brent Kopp, 48, of Austin, Texas was born July 15, 1969 in Austin to Larry Dale Kopp and Sue Newsom Kopp. He was a child of God through baptism on August 25, 1969 at Faith Lutheran Church in Austin and was confirmed in May 1986.

John was a native Austinite and graduated from Anderson High School. He had a long and successful career working for the State of Texas, including the Comptroller's Office and Texas Lottery Commission. He will be remembered for his generosity and genuine care for others. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels and, as an organ donor, has directly benefited other lives. John was a humble man with a huge heart. He was blessed with many skills that he willingly put to use when needed by others. Married to Traci for twenty years, John above all loved his family and actively enjoyed his daughters and their lives. He was proud of them beyond measure. John's passions and interests included hunting, fishing, cooking, and visiting the Texas coast. He enjoyed following the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and was a fierce and ardent supporter of Texas A&M sports, particularly football.

John was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Otto and Anita Kopp and Elmo and Mildred Newsom; father-in-law, Lloyd Szanto; and brother-in-law, David Szanto. He is survived by his wife, Traci; daughters, Taylor and Jenna; parents Larry and Sue; mother-in-law, Paula Szanto; brother, Jerald and wife, Amy; nieces Kayla Kopp Orton and husband, Ryan and Allison; Nephew, Davis Szanto. Additionally, he is survived by many other loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Family graveside service arrangements will be held Wednesday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m., Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, FM 218 (2 miles west of Pottsville, Texas). Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 19th at 4:00 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church, 6600 Woodrow Avenue, Austin, Texas. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
