Gilboa- John E. Laux, Sr., 88, of Mace Road died Saturday February 15, 2014 at his residence.
John was born on December 27, 1925 in Stamford, NY to Maude (O'Brien) and John Laux.
John proudly served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 and received an honorable discharge.
He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Catskill Craftsmen in Stamford, NY before retiring.
John enjoyed the solitude of his home, hunting, fishing, tinkering and playing with his tractor.
He was predeceased by his parents, siblings and by his wife, June Latta Laux in 1991.
John is survived by his daughter: Jacqueline (Willard) Edick of Spanaway, WA; son: John E. Laux, Jr. of Gloversville; grandson: William Michlik of Tacoma, WA and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Keyserkill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Cremation took place at the Vale Crematory, Schenectady, NY.
