JOHN MARKOUL of West Bloomfield died on March 12, 2012 at the age 88. In 1953, he co-founded National Reproductions Corp. with his partner James Pamel. The Detroit-based company grew to become one of the largest commercial printing companies in southeastern Michigan. It was sold in 1997. John was a man of honor. His integrity set him apart from most men. Whether you were family or friend, you could always count on John. John was a very successful businessman, and so much more. He flew his own plane, played many a golf course and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family and friends. John was the beloved husband of Georgia for 26 years. He was the dear father of Michael Vicki), Sandie Sarhan (Frank), Mark Heppard (Cheryl), Michelle Heppard and Nick Heppard (Lisa). John was the loving grandfather of Alex, Ashley, Nicole, Olivia, Julia, and Ava. He was the brother of the late Christine Melanakos. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile), Thursday, from 2-8p.m. Trisagion is at 7p.m. Funeral service is Friday 10a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 760 Wattles, Troy. Memorial tributes may be made to the church. John you gave this world the best you had and the world is a better place because you were here. Rest in peace Chief...Heaven is your reward for a life well lived. His granddaughters used these words to describe him: Nicole: "Kind and generous" Olivia: "Loving and thankful" Julia: "Dependable and funny" Ava: "Caring and always there when you needed him"
