John Thomas (TOM) Bowen
John Thomas (Tom) Bowen of The Woodlands passed away on 01/24/2018 at his home. He was born 78 years ago in Birmingham, Alabama to Fred William & Eula Mae Bowen. Tom served in the US Navy from 1958-1960 on the Destroyer: William C Lawe. After he left the service, Tom worked for RCA on missile tracking ships in the Mediterranean off the coast of Africa as a Field Telemetry Engineer.

In 1962 he transferred to Cape Canaveral, Florida working in Network Control/Flight Control for the Mercury Space program. Tom came to Houston in 1965 to work at the Johnson Space Center for Philco Ford. He processed telemetry data for NASA's Gemini & Apollo programs at Mission Control. Tom retired from MD Anderson Cancer Center after 22 years as a Systems Analyst.
Tom's passions include good dining, golf, gambling in Las Vegas, and traveling with his wife to all 7 continents.

He was proceeded in death by his parents: Fred William & Eula Mae Bowen & his sister: Polly Smith. Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years: Sharon Kay Bumbera Bowen & sons: Mark Bowen & Daniel Bowen (Lisa). He has one grandson: Sam & granddaughter: Taylor. Tom has 2 sisters: Jane Browning (Kevin) & Mary Ann Kirk (William) plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Tom was a devoted husband, and a fun-loving father and grandfather!

Funeral services are as follows: Visitation on Monday 01/29/18 from 5PM-8PM with Rosary at 7PM at Forest Park-The Woodlands Cemetery 18000 I45 South, 77584. Funeral Mass & Burial on Tuesday 01/30/18 at 11AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 7801 Bay Branch Drive, The Woodlands 77382.
