Johnny Lee Hill, 84, of Charleston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.



John was born in Jackson County on September 6, 1933 to the late Opha and Neniah Harrison Hill. He was a retired Certification Analyst with the WV State Department of Education and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. John was a Christian and a member of the Goldtown Community Church.



Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Carole Beane Hill.



John is survived by his son, John F. (Candi) Hill of Kenna; daughter, Mary Beth (Brad) Querry of Sissonville; sisters, Frances Parsons of Fairplain and Anna Newhouse of Kenna; four grandchildren, Drew (Lydia) Hill and Jace Hill of Kenna, Makayla and Addison Querry of Sissonville; two step-grandchildren, Kassie and Jordan Querry of Charleston; and one great-grandchild, Ruger Hill of Kenna.



The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Goldtown Community Church with Pastors Aaron Jones and Al Mendez officiating. The entombment will follow the service at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.



A visitation with family and friends will be held Monday, December 11, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church.
