CHANDLER, Joni (Gammy), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went home to Heaven on January 16, 2018 after 84 years of love and devotion to her family, friends and community. Gammy lived in Mesquite, Tx with her husband and daughter and entered her Savior's presence after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Gammy was born March 8, 1933. She married Joe Bowen and had two children, Danny and Pam. Later, she married Ronald Chandler on December 21, 1990. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years and then worked her way up to a high level position for Vision Service Plan before retiring. But her greatest joy was being "Mom" and "Gammy." She dedicated her life to caring for those around her. She loved to worship and talk about "her Jesus." She imparted valuable advice on life and made sure to keep up on the latest trends which she would pass down to those around her. She was kind and spunky, a complete original and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by children Danny (Debbie) Bowen, Pam Kackley; grandchildren Kevin Johnson, James Bowen, Brandon (Kelly) Bowen, Dani Jo (Jese) James, Mandi (John) Laurila; her brother Roy (Gennie) Wadle, sister-in-law Nelda Wadle, and numerous great grandchildren that she adored. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Pauline Wadle, twin brother Bill Wadle and sister Betty Barnes. Funeral services will be at the Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral home located at 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Tx 75149. Visitation is on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm with procession to graveside to follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
