Jonny Walter Hiatt, 67, of Adin, California, passed away on May 18, 2016, at Meyers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills, CA after battling with Liver Disease.
He was born on September 2, 1948, in Snohomish, Washington. At about age 2 his mother moved to Adin, California where she remarried and had 3 more children.
In 1965, he enlisted in the Army where he got his G.E.D. He served over seas 3-5 years in Germany and in Vietnam. Jonny had a variety of military jobs but his specialty was photographic reproduction. He took reconnaissance photos and reproduced them into large maps. Jonny spent a total of 13 years in the military before returning to private, family life.
After the military, Jonny travelled around a lot with many different jobs. He worked as a planerman for Roseburg Lumber Company and even drove a racecar on dirt tracks. That was one of the jobs he loved doing. He was always finding himself at the racetracks.
After finally settling down in the Big Valley Area, he finished truck driving school and went to work hauling asphalt from the mine.
Jonny loved and enjoyed dirt bikes, motorcycles, go-carts and racing. Racing is how he acquired the nick-name, Drag-Slick.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; five children and five grandchildren; mother and his 3 sisters. Jonny was a Great Man that was dearly loved. We will all miss him.
