Joseph A. Goslin, age 94, of Westport, MA, passed away on April 24th. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Margaret (Morin) Goslin. Born in Fall River, Joe was the son of the late Florence (Sullivan) Goslin and James A. Goslin, Sr.

Joe graduated in 1940 from Durfee High School. Following employment at the Newport Torpedo Station, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces where he deployed to the Pacific Theater while serving with the 20th Air Force, 29th Bomber Group, 52nd Squadron. He crewed B29 Bombers from the island of Guam including the final combat mission against Japan. Joe was a charter member of the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

In the early 60's Joe was a business manager for the electrical workers of Local #437 IBEW. He was subsequently employed by New England Electric System at Brayton Point Power Plant as Superintendent of Electrical Construction. Joe retired after 25 years as a Manager of Electrical Construction throughout New England. In 1981, Joe received the company's first Award of Excellence in recognition of outstanding performance.

As a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Finance Committee, the Building Committee, and the Marriage Preparation Team.

Joe also served the town of Westport as an electrical inspector and member of the Planning Board.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph of Fall River and Kevin of Wrentham, three daughters, Catherine Shockro and Marjorie Bobola of Mattapoisett, and Marybeth Ferrarini of Westport, and one brother, James of Warwick, RI. Joseph was the beloved grandfather of Todd, Timothy and John Shockro, Kateri Shockro Rebello, Christopher, Nathan and Gretchen Bobola, Lannon, Abigail, Madison, Benjamin, Zachary and Samantha Goslin, Jacob, Meghan and Molly Ferrarini. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Friday, April 28th at 8:30 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Visiting hours will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th. Burial will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45PM.
