Joseph C. " The Rock " Scott, age 62, of Cleveland, IL. , died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Joe was born January 19, 1945 in Moline, the son of Joseph C and Dorothea Ann (Veceli) Scott. He married Judith Griffin on April 11, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline.

Joe was employed as a correctional officer Sgt. at the East Moline Correctional Facility. He was earlier employed with the Colona Police Department, and as a Henry County Deputy.

Joe was a navy veteran serving from 1962-66. He was a volunteer fireman from 1977-78; 2nd Term Commander of American Legion Post #1233 Colona, co-founder of L.A.D. Legionnaires Against Drugs and he started Legion Riders both in Colona.

Grandchildren Cortney, Brett, Aby, Jamie & Gannon Scott

2 Brothers and 3 Sisters

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jamie Allen Scott, twin brother of James and 2 brothers.
