Joseph F. Bores, Jr., 77, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home in Surprise, Arizona. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Joseph and Carrie (nee Miller), Joe was raised in Totowa, NJ. An Altar Boy, Boy Scout and standout baseball player, Joe attended Paterson State College (now William Patterson University) where he was part of a 1959 team that won the NJCAA Championship and advanced to the NAIA Tournament in Alpine, TX. Joe graduated with a BA in English and went on to a long career in retail management that included Two Guys Department store in Totowa, NJ and the CVS Pharmacy at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ. He retired from Levy Home Entertainment as a District Manager overseeing accounts across the northeast.

Joe married the love of his life, Mary Lou Tuzzolino, in Garfield, NJ in 1961. They were blessed with two sons before building a home in Wanaque, NJ where they resided for nearly 30 years. Joe and Mary Lou loved to travel to island destinations and share holidays with a large extended family. They built a new home in Manchester, NJ in 1998, but Mary Lou sadly passed in 2005. Joe retired to Surprise, AZ in 2006 where his life centered around family, several close friends and the social game of golf. He is survived by his brother James, sister-in-law Ellen, sons Joe and Mike, daughters-in-law Gina and Donna, and grandchildren Haley, Sarah and Hayden.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and a Service from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 2nd at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ, followed by interment at St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ where Joe will be forever reunited with Mary Lou.
