Joseph L. Amodio, II, 74, of South Windsor, died Sunday, (May 14, 2006) at Manchester Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 23, 1931, son of the late Joseph L. Amodio, Sr., and Anna (Interladi) Amodio, he had lived in the Hartford area before moving to South Windsor 15 years ago. Before retiring he was a self-employed caterer, operating the R&J Catering Company. He leaves a son and his wife, Joseph Amodio, III and Barbara Amodio of South Windsor; two sisters, Maria Hirth of Tolland and Lena and her husband, Joseph Cannizzaro of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren, Jaime, Jennifer, Michelle and Anna Amodio; two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Brandon; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his longtime girlfriend, Julie Veilleux of Vernon. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, follow by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends TODAY, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
