It is with great sadness that the family of our beloved, Josephine Cano Jimenez, announces her passing on July 9, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born on September 3, 1926 in Houston, Texas and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy.

She was affectionately known as Beautiful Lady, Jo, Suegra, Señora, Mom, Grandma, Memo, Double J, Abuela, and most recently, Doña.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gustavo Jimenez Sr.†, son, Robert (Bobby) Jimenez†, and great-great grandson, Johnny Hague†.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Martha Gonzalez, Carmen Bello (Efrain), Gustavo Jimenez Jr. (Alma), Sylvia Castillo (Robert), Robert Jimenez† (Mely), Monica Velasquez (Simon), Sofia Longoria, and Philip Jimenez, 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister, Teresa Gonzales and brother, Manuel Cano.

Pallbearers: Alex and Estevan Gonzalez, David Almendarez, Robert Pena, Christopher Jimenez, Roger, Matthew and Noah Longoria. Honorary Pallbearers: Andrew and Blake Gonzalez, Kamron Wilredge, Adrian Almendarez and Simon Velasquez III.

Services, under the direction of Crespo Funeral Home-Dignity Memorial-Navigation, will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4015 Sherman Street, Houston, TX 77003, Thursday, July 13, 2017, visitation from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., departing from Blessed Sacrament Church to the burial services at Forest Park-Lawndale. Reception to follow at Blessed Sacrament Church Hall.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Harbor Hospice and their staff for their dedication to our mom throughout her stay. To her caregivers: Natalie Garcia, Elizabeth and Roger Longoria, Stella Chavez and Ellia Samudio, thank you for the loving care displayed over the years.
