Mrs. Joy Ellen Westenfeld Boltz, age 83, of Toccoa, formerly of Griffith, IN, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Wilkinson Center.

Born December 26, 1935 in Peotone, IL, she was the daughter of the late Henry John and Florence E. Matthias Westenfeld.

She was a member of the First Alliance Church of Toccoa. Joy grew up in Crete, IL where she attended Christian Parochial School. She completed high school and went to work with Continental Insurance Company in Chicago, IL for a number of years. She also worked for The Southland Corporation/Convenient Store Industry. Joy was the mother of four beautiful children which she raised in Northeast Indiana.

Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Trace and Beth Embry of Martin; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Ross of Toccoa, Tammy and Todd Boucher, Mt. Airy, and Tina and Ronny Burns of Eastanollee; niece Deborah Wordinger and her husband Bruce of Indiana; brother and sister in law, Danny and Janet Boltz of Arizona; six grandchildren, Amin, Allison, Andrew, Alexa, Brandon, and Blaze; four great-grandchildren, Kaley, Kaden, Kassidy, and Lilliana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Florence Westenfeld; her husband, Robert Boltz; grandson, Asa Embry; and her sisters, Jeanette and Darlene.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the First Alliance Church of Toccoa with Dr. David Reese and Mr. Trace Embry officiating.

Burial will be at Roselane Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Brandon Burns, Andrew Embry, Joshua Wallace, Ronny Burns, Todd Boucher, and Blaze Boucher.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the First Alliance Church of Toccoa from 10 am until 12 noon. They will break for lunch and continue with visitation from 1 pm until 2 pm.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Church or Charity of choice.
