We as a family want to celebrate the life of Joyce Ann Watson. It is our great loss but Heaven’s gain. She went to Heaven to be with our Lord on October 23, 2017. She was 82 years old.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10am with funeral services to follow at 11am at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell, TX 75019. Burial will be at 4pm at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer, TX.

She was born in Queen City, Texas on July 16, 1935. She grew up in Atlanta, Texas. Along with her husband Jimmy Clyde Watson, mom and dad raised our family in Irving, Texas. They later moved to White Oak, Texas in 1978 and retired there.

Mom loved to cook Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. We had many wonderful nature walks afterwards. We all loved her homemade chocolate pies with the high meringue. She always had perfectly wrapped Christmas gifts and she certainly loved her chocolate and ice cream.

Mom and Dad were married in Atlanta, Texas on October 5, 1957. They were married for 57 years when Dad passed on October 20, 2014. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sherrie Arwood and her husband Max, her son, Danny Watson and his wife Rebecca, her grandchildren Christopher Castro, Michelle Moore, Grant Watson and Trent Watson, and her great grandchildren Caleb and Brayden Moore. She will also be remembered dearly by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mom was preceeded in death by her mother, Thelma Ole Sirmans, and her brother Troy Sirmans, Sr. She is survived by her sister Jane Smith and her husband Jim Smith and her sister-in-law Marilyn Sirmans.

She worked for Southwestern Bell from September 03, 1955 to May 01, 1987 when she retired.

Mom and Dad were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. They both had many wonderful friends.
