Joyce Juanita "JJ" Hudson, 84 years old, passed over peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017. Her eyes always twinkled. She was light and love. And the world is a little dimmer today.

Juanita was born in Non, OK on February 23, 1933, and was the youngest daughter and fourth of eight children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was the most compassionate and strongest woman we have ever known.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Homer Alexander and Ester Lois Tollett Alexander; her only son Michael Wayne Hudson in 1995; an infant daughter in 1953; and two of her younger brothers, Arvel B. Alexander and Weldon Lee Alexander.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Roy Hudson, of Del City, OK. They met at Holdenville High School where she graduated in 1951. They married on March 29, 1952. She previously worked at the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, and enjoyed girls' night and card games for many years with her three closest girlfriends from work. They all preceded her in death.
She is also survived by: her oldest daughter, Linda Dawn Bostwick of Moore, OK; her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Alexander Hudson and Paul Rodgers, of Oklahoma City, OK; her four grandchildren, Shawn Bostwick and his wife Thao, Eric Bostwick and his wife Jennifer, Kimberly Phelps and her husband Michael, and Lance Wilson; her five great-grandchildren, Brady Bostwick, Zoey Phelps, Brooks Bostwick, Chance Bostwick, and Rowan Bostwick; her three older sisters, Bernice Alexander, Marie "Re Re" Lea, and Lavon Jones; her two younger brothers, Arlen B. Alexander and Harold Sumner; her "adopted" son, Andrew "Drew" Thomas Theus III; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Juanita had a strong faith and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Non, OK. She attended Destiny Christian Center in Del City, OK for many years and her pastor was Lawrence Neisent.
She was a lifetime OU Sooners fan and loved watching football games with family. She loved watching the OKC Thunder play and her favorite NBA player was Russell Westbrook. She volunteered throughout her life, including PTA, homeroom mom, softball teams, and Job's Daughters. She enjoyed gardening, Sudoko, and crossword puzzles. She was a voracious reader and her home library was filled with hundreds of books. She loved music, especially rock music, and enjoyed live music and concerts throughout her life up into her eighties. She always said she was born in the "wrong"'generation.
She fought her courageous battle with colon cancer with dignity and grace for nearly 5 years. She was incredibly brave and strong, and remained positive until the very end.
She related that she looks forward to being reunited with her daddy, momma, son, and brothers.
Services will be officiated by Richard Eckel, her friend and nephew-in-law (husband of her niece, Donna Eckel).

Her funeral service will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 2:00 PM located at 5005 SE 29th ST, Del City, OK 73115. Public visitation will be at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on Monday, December 18th from 4:00-8:00 PM.

She will be buried next to her son, Mike. Interment will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery, immediately following her memorial service located at 4000 SE 29th ST, Del City, OK 73115.

Celebration of life will be held at the home of her grandson immediately following the graveside services.
