Juan Gutierrez, 72, of Terrell, passed away on March 20, 2012 in a Dallas hospital. He was born March 8, 1940 in Anahuae, Mexico to Ignacio Gutierrez and Manuela Rodriguez. Juan, also known as "Cuchillo" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved gardening, yard work, and riding his bike. He possessed a talent with woodworking and shared this talent by creating furniture for his family. Juan loved his family and enjoyed spending time playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, wife Benita Trevino Gutierrez, and sister Maria Gutierrez. Those left to celebrate his life are children Juana Cannon of Wills Point, Lourdes Elliott and husband Richard of Terrell, Juan Gutierrez Jr. and wife Blanca of Terrell, Ricardo, Rosa, Isidro, and Norma Gutierrez; grandchildren Armando, Delores, Amanda, Rico, Sebastian, Sabrina, Lizette, Juan, De Dios, Anahi, Berenice, Vividiana, Juan Antonio, Christian, Fernanda, Oscar and Stephanie. He is also survived by brothers Enrique Gutierrez and wife Adela, Jesse Gutierrez, Roberto Gutierrez and Jose Gutierrez and wife Minga; 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
