Julia Fox, 89, Snyder, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Julia was born on December 19, 1927 to the late Jackson and Bertha Chandler Ellis.
After finishing high school she met the love of her life, Forrest Lynn Fox while at John Tarleto State Teachers College then at the age of 19 on January 22, 1947 the two of them married. Together they raised two boys, Don and Allen Fox who remember her fondly as a wonderful mother. Julia was a stay at home mom who was very active in her sons' everyday life, making sure to stay involved in their schooling, which involved joining the Snyder PTA. In her spare time Julia enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Snyder Garden Club, and a member of the Snyder PTA. She is also known for her extensive collection of cook-books some of which she had multiple copies of.
Julia is survived by her 2 sons, Don Fox and Fiancé Anna Mendenhal of Snyder and Allen Fox and wife Helen of Monahans, by 9 grandchildren and by two sister-in-laws Mary Ellis of Colorado City and Sandy Ellis of Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forrest Fox, and by her brothers; J.P. Ellis, Jeff Ellis, Buck Ellis, Ather Ellis, Othal Ellis, and Wayne Ellis.
A funeral service for Julia wil be held on Monday, March 20th at 10 am at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City with Brandon Denton and Royce Clay of the 22nd and Austin Church of Christ officiating, burial will follow in the Dunn Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation on Sunday, March 19th at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home from 6-8.
