Karen L. Salisbury, 56, of Ellington, beloved wife of the late, Arthur G. Salisbury, died Wednesday, (January 7, 2009) at the Governor’s House in Simsbury after a long illness. Born in New Britain on March 8, 1952, daughter of the late Herman and Lucy (DiCarlo) Schlotterbeck, she had lived in South Windsor for twenty years before moving to Ellington five years ago. Karen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor and enjoyed calling in on radio show contests and spending time with her canine companion, Kasie. Karen was a devoted wife, mother and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves her children, Melissa L. Davis and her husband, Alex of Bedford, NH, Pamela A. Salisbury of Bristol and Michael J. Salisbury of Ellington; a brother, Glen Schlotterbeck of Layton, UT and a sister, Patricia Walsh of Clayton, CA. She was predeceased by a brother, Peter Zelek. Family and friends may gather, Tuesday, January 13 at 9:15 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Her family will receive friends, Monday from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
