Karl Russell Smith Jr.,87, of Richmond, Texas, passed away, on the 23 rd of September 2017. He was born on February 28, 1930 to Karl and Rose Smith of Wichita, Kansas. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Army stationed in El Paso for a short while and finished in San Antonio during the Korean War. After an Honorable Discharge from the service he continued his career as a Programmer for Transco. Upon his retirement of 33 years he went on to be the owner of several successful pawnshops and shopping centers. His love for poker playing, fishing and fixing up of old cars and his famous saying "Are you with me?" will be dearly missed. Preceded him in death his wife of 66 years Billie Jean, son Carlton Edward Smith, daughter Linda Lee Smith, parents Karl Russell and Rose Durfee Smith, sister Carolyn Behee and brother in law Johnny. He is survived by his son Steve Allan Smith, wife Jeannette Marie, granddaughter Hope Renee Sumner and husband Charles. The family would like to thank Maria I Gutierrez, Maria Cordona, Yesenia Gutierrez and Nancy Ramos for caring for him this last year. With all of the care and kind, giving hearts that you provided he was able to be with us longer. Friends are invited to a visitation with family on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, located at 15015 Sw Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Morrow Chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek.
