HATCH, KATHRYN ELINOR (LEONARD) passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2017. Kathy was born on April 20,1942, in Dallas, and grew up in Garland where she had many cherished memories and friends. While at Texas Tech, she met David Hatch, and they were married in 1963. David was the love of her life. They built a happy life together settling in Richardson where they raised their family, and made many lifelong friends.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. The strength of this devotion was manifested in the loving care she provided for her husband as they battled his ALS together.

After losing David in 2014, Kathy remained active in the life of her family, church, and community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, John and Irene Leonard, her brother, Larry Leonard, and a host of family and friends over the years.

She is survived by her sons and their families: John and Mary Hatch, Jessica Dunn, Caelie and Javi Perez-Dunn, Leo Perez-Dunn, Ethan Hatch, and Kevin Hatch; Jeff Hatch and Camille Smith, Emily Hatch, Alex Hatch, and Claudia Smith; Kevin and Donna Hatch, Savanah and James Staves, Rylynn Smith, Ivy Kate Staves, Nicole Hatch, and Kyle Hatch. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, and their families: John E. T. Leonard, Mike and Julie Leonard, and Blossom and Luis Figueroa.

The visitation will be on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30, with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy starting at 10:30. The funeral will begin at 11am. This is all at St. Marks in Plano. Internment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
