Kathryn Thomason Cash, 100, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018. Kathryn was born on October 9, 1917, in Canton, Georgia, the oldest daughter of Noah & Sally Thomason. She attended GSCW and Valdosta State graduating with a teaching degree. She married her childhood friend, Kelsey Cash, in 1939 and was married until his passing in 2000. They moved to Orlando in 1955 where she raised her family and taught school for many years at Aloma Elem. She was named Teacher of the Year in the 1990's.

Kathryn, aka Mamama to her grandchildren, was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher, and an accomplished Southern cook. She shared her delicious meals with family & friends in the form of two cookbooks. One granddaughter named her business after Kathryn's cookies, Oatmeal Lace.

Always a gracious host, Kathryn welcomed everyone with an offer of a coke and a beautiful smile. She took an interest in others and was proud to share her own family's accomplishments. An astute bridge player and lifelong golfer, she enjoyed her friends and activities well into her nineties. She was a member of the "hole-in-one club" at WP Golf Club and a faithful member of First Baptist Church Winter Park.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra Jones, Kathy Snyder, Kelsey Cash (Nadine); her grandchildren, Jaime Kemper (Scott), McKay Pittman (Joey), Sarah Keefer (Josh), Will Snyder, Lyndsey Beasley (Jesse) and Kelsey Chen (Andy); her great grandchildren, Jack & Luke Kemper, Beckett & Emme Pittman, Hazel Keefer, Jesse & Ella Beasley, and Anderson Chen; her sister, Sara Lathem and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her family would like to express thanks to the staff of The Mayflower for their exceptional loving care the past five years. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Winter Park with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her beloved church, First Baptist Winter Park, 1021 New York Ave., Winter Park, Florida, 32789.
