Katina "Kathy" Romas, nee Lalagos.

Born in Vouno, Tegea, Greece on February 15, 1940; passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends in Sacramento, CA on December 13, 2017. Loving wife of the late Nicholas D. Romas; devoted mother of Elaine Romas, Matina (Sotiris) Kolokotronis, Jeannie Romas and Jamie (Noah Schwartz) Romas; cherished grandmother of Constantine, Marisa and Nicholas Kolokotronis, John Basil Rackos and Patricia Dunn; dear sister of Thomas (the late Ileana) Lalagos and the late Dina (the late Kosta) Kanavos and Evyenia Bitakis; proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. She emigrated to Chicago in 1956 and, along with her husband Nick, owned many restaurants in the Chicagoland area. An active member of the Greek-American communities in both Chicago and Sacramento, her passions included cooking, travel, politics and Sacramento Kings basketball. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Misericordia Heart of Mercy, care of Elaine Romas Rackos, 2657 N. Bosworth #1N, Chicago, IL, 60614.

Family and friends are invited to a Trisagion Sunday, December 17th at 5:00 p.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 600 Alhambra Blvd. Sacramento, CA. Funeral and interment services will take place in Illinois.
