Kenneth (Snip) Alvin Fountain, son of Clara Hairston Fountain of Sanford, NC and the late Samuel Fountain was born on September 5, 1950 in Axton, VA. On Thursday, January 19, 2017, a death angel moved Kenneth from Duke University Hospital of Durham, NC to God's Celestial Shore where there is no more sickness, worries, sorrows or pain.

Kenneth was a member of Love and Hope Ministries of Martinsville, VA where he served as a Deacon. He served faithfully and honorably as he took much pride in his deaconship.

Kenneth is a Vietnam Era Veteran who served in two Military Branches, the Marine Corps and the US Army. In later years, he went to work at Bassett Walker in Martinsville, VA. Having a great passion for the outdoors, Kenneth eventually started his own business in the Logging Industry. He also had a love for fast cars and racing. Often, he would drive his logging equipment like they were racing machines and yes one day he overturned one of his big logging trucks; but by the Grace of God, he was able to crawl out of the truck and wave to everyone indicating that he was okay. He was truly a man with many lives.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Fountain and a sister, Sharon F. Cobbs.

Kenneth is survived by his wife whom he loved dearly, Elizabeth Diane Fountain, three step children Kelvin, Lonnie and Makisa Martin; one grandson of the home, Keishawn Martin and an additional eight other grandchildren. Kenneth also leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother, Clara Fountain of Sanford NC; a mother-in-law, Vilena Martin of Martinsville VA; one brother, Albert Fountain (Karen) of Axton, VA; one sister, Laurnell F. Hand (Norris) of Sanford, NC; four other brother-in laws, Ronnie, Lonnie, Kenneth and Eligia Martin; three other sister-in-laws, Sandra Hairston, Viola Rich and Donna Martin; one niece, Lanita Hampton (Corey); three nephews, Duane (Vicki); Kerry (Felicia); Derrick (Amanda); five great nephews, Corey, Vatrell, Devin, Damion and Dre; three great nieces, K'lecia, Cierra and Gabrielle; two Uncles, Tracy and Glennie Hairston; three Aunts, Lillie Mae Fountain, Eliza F. (Ann) Craig and Carrie Hairston ; two special friends of the family, Arrie Fountain and Priscilla Smith; a devoted pastor and special friends, Steve Clements and wife Dinah; a host of other relatives and friends and lastly some very devoted cousins.

Snip, we the family love you with an everlasting love and hate to see you go. The Lord has shown favor on you time and time again; but today the Heavenly Death Angel has been our Friend!

Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3
