TOPEKA ~ Kenneth Dean Pennington, Jr., 66, of Topeka, passed away at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his home.

Born April 21, 1954 in Pekin to Kenneth and Katherine L. (Smith) Pennington, Sr., he married Irene Theresa Berg on December 7, 1982 in Florida. She survives.

Also surviving his children, Jeffery (Amanda) Fey of Sunburst, Montana, Leslie (Jonah) Webb of Billings, Montana, Eugene (Heather) Pennington of Pekin and Kenneth D. (Kelly) Pennington, III of Tremont; ten grandchildren and four siblings, Vicky Pennington of Florida Terry (Sue) Pennington of Green Valley, Robert (Lori) Vanderwerf of Pekin and Karen Vanderwerf of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Miranda Sue “Mandy” Pennington and one son, Adam Pennington.

Ken was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving the United States Air Force for eight years.

He last worked as a caregiver for Bridgeway in Pekin, retiring in 2004.

A loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Ken enjoyed watching television, barbeques and talking to anyone that would listen to him.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services are scheduled at this time.
