Kevin Vincent Dawkins, son of the late Eva Mae Dawkins, William Richard Dawkins, and Albert Jones was born on May 25, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the age of 51 years. Bubby, as he was affectionately called, received his early education in the Delaware public school system, attending Howard High School. In 2006, Kevin relocated to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and was employed by Lancaster General Hospital where he worked for three years preceding his death. He enjoyed basketball and barbequing, but most of all spending time and being surrounded by all of his loved ones. Bubby was a fun loving, kind hearted teddy bear who loved with a big heart. He walked through adversity with a smile and he loved praising the Lord. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Dawkins and Benjamin Lee. He leaves to cherish his memory: 3 children, Lakeysha R. Brown (Dalasini Brown), Lerrie K. Tate (Cashona Tate), and LaTonya R. Lucas, of Wilmington, Delaware; 3 sisters, Willette Taylor (Richard Taylor), Dorothy Dawkins, and Lillian Dawkins (Ronald Cephas) all of Wilmington, Delaware; 12 grandchildren, a special friend, Ruth Hendrix of Lancaster, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. Funeral services 11 am, Friday, April 27, at Congo Funeral Home, 2317 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19802; viewing 9-11 am. Burial will be private.
