Kwang Chul Lim passed away very early in the morning on May 2, 2017 at the Brookhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, TX at the age of 64. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on October 12, 1952. At the time of his passing, Kwang was at peace surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years - Jung Ok Lim, his son - Michael Kwang Lim, his daughter - Jenny Ann Chae, his son-in-law - Seung Woo Chae, and his grandson - Davian Alexander Chae.

Kwang lived an amazing life dedicated to family. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany, he met, fell in love with, and married Jung. They then had their first child, Jenny. After Kwang completed his military service, the family settled temporarily in California where they welcomed the addition of their son, Michael. Eventually, the family settled in El Paso, TX where they were able to realize the "American Dream" by becoming successful business owners, purchasing their first home, and providing great lives for their two children.

In January 2002, Kwang was diagnosed with gastric cancer. In the years since, he endured multiple surgeries and treatment cycles in his fight against cancer. As he continued to fight he was able to witness milestone after milestone for his family. He saw his daughter graduate college in 2002, he walked his daughter down the aisle in 2007, he retired as a successful business owner in 2010 (which enabled him to finally spend time traveling with his beloved family), and he met his first and only grandchild, Davian, in 2015. Kwang and Jung left El Paso and moved to Dallas, TX prior to the birth of their grandson so they could spend as much time with him as possible while helping their daughter and son-in-law navigate the challenges of parenthood.

Kwang's legacy is a life spent devoted to family. He was able to see that family expand in his final years, and he spent his final days immersed in their love. Kwang was an inspiration as husband, father, grandfather, soldier, and businessman, and he will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
