Laretta Irene Cain was called home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Laretta was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 11, 1946 to Ora Melton Hawes and Mary Oakes Hawes. She was a very loving and giving person who would gladly help anyone in need. Laretta was a life-long member and supporter of AmVets. Some of her favorite activities were bowling, arts and crafts, line dancing and square dancing and playing games on the computer. Laretta loved spending time with her family (especially all her grandchildren) and she had a very special love for her dogs, Cindy, Sweetie and Katy. On October 27, 1982 Laretta married Arthur Cain in Rockwall, TX.

Preceding Laretta in death were her parents and one sister, Wanda Becker. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Cain of Mesquite; six children, Cindy Scarber and husband Wesley of Dallas, Mary Tuskey of Mesquite, Darlene Washington and husband Jeff of Elkhart, Robert Tuskey and wife Laura of Mesquite, Henry Cain and wife Julie of Dallas and Michella Lockett of Plano; seventeen grandchildren, Christina, Sondra, Trinidad, Michael, Justin, Brittany, Corinna, Darryl, Zachary, Courtlyn, Hannah, Leah, Lana, Amber, Amanda, Adrianna and Scottland; twenty five and ½ great grandchildren; four sisters, Bonnie Strum and husband Dennis of Kentucky, Kathy Lynn Walker and husband Cal of Tennessee, Laurie Hawes of Kentucky and Pat Bacon and husband Ray of Michigan; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, 305 N. Jackson Street, Kaufman, TX. Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, May 19, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Griffis officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Tuskey, Henry Cain, Wesley Scarber, Jeff Washington, Michael Freeman and Justin Freeman.
