May 19, 1940 – October 24, 2020

Larry Roderick Terry, know to his friends as "Rod" passed away on October 24, 2020 in Anderson SC. He leaves a loving wife of 59 years, Marie Richards Terry; Sons: Reverend Curtis Terry of Graniteville, SC and Tedd B. Terry of Hummelstown, PA; Daughters-in-law: Lisa Padgett Terry and Sally Meese Terry; Grandchildren: Jonathan Terry and wife Kimberly of Inman, SC, Brooke Terry Jones & husband, Adam of Woodruff, SC, Brittany Terry of Camphill, PA and Josey Terry of Hummelstown, PA . Don't forget the 5 great-grandchildren! He leaves a sister, Patsy Terry Dobson of Central, SC and brother, Jack Terry and wife, Nancy of Anderson, SC. His Father, Roy Paul Terry, Sr., and Mother, Eloise Duncan Terry preceded him in death. Also, by sisters: Kathryn Fant Campbell and Barbara Terry. He is also predeceased by a brother, Roy Paul Terry, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Jerry Richards.

He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1959 and studied Textile Design and Textile Management after beginning his working career at La France Industries. He worked there for 37 years in various positions of management. After leaving La France in 1995, he worked as a textile consultant, specializing in quality assurance. He later was associated with Clemson Engineering Services, where he worked until his retirement in 2006.

Rod was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He also loved photography, fishing, shooting sports, and God's great outdoors. He loved history and studied the battles of the Civil War and visited many of the battlegrounds around the country. He also studied the history of World War 2, including the battles and the weapons of that era. He traveled extensively around the U.S. and especially loved the West where he hunted, fished and toured with his wife and friend.

He was a long-time member of Pendleton Second Baptist Church (now, Faith Fellowship Church at its new location on Greenville Street in Pendleton). Over the many years, he served as Deacon, Minister of Music, R.A. Leader, Sunday School Director, Bus Ministry Leader, Church Training Director, Video Technician and Sunday School Teacher. He had a special appreciation for the elderly and taught the Senior Men's Class for over 45 years.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27 at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Clemson.

The family will receive friends at 10:00, prior to the service.
