Lawrence C. Hawkinson, 91, of Aurora, IL had his final prayer answered when God called him home on September 30, 2019. He was born on May 15, 1928 in Aurora, IL. He was the son of the late Carl and Bernice(Chester) Hawkinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor June (Clark) and they shared 68 years of marriage together.

He is survived by his three wonderful daughters who were the light of his life. Dawn (Bill) Cummins, Gail (Gregg) Miller, and Joy (Byron) Boese. Also his 12 precious grandchildren. Brett (Denise), Bryan (Dawn), Rory, Kelly (Mike), Shane, Shannon (Daniel), Kevin ( Megan), Melissa (Nick), Staci (Joe), Elizabeth ( Matthew), Tiffany (Kristen) and John. Adding to his family are 30 great grandchildren. He often asked how many great grandchildren he had because they multiplied so fast. He is also survived by one brother, Charles and sister-in-law Dorothy Hawkinson. They were so faithful in their weekly visits.

Larry made the most important decision of his life when he came to know the Lord as his Savior in May of 1975. Since that time he has been a faithful servant of our Lord and has served his church in many capacities. He always felt a friend in need was a friend indeed. Without question he was always there for his family.

He worked for Illinois Bell as a phone repairman for 38 years and was blessed with 33 years of retirement.

In Larry's free time he enjoyed hunting with the several dogs he trained, but his favorite was Copper He was also an avid fisherman...his family looked forward to the Walleye fish fry after his annual fishing trip! He was an excellent craftsman and woodworker. With his skills he was a jack of all trades.

He touched many lives and he will be greatly missed!

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th, 4-7 PM at Healy Chapel located at 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 325 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60505. A private burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church children's ministry.
