Lawrence Dorcey Leach, lovingly known as "Uncle Mickey", passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at his home in Humble, Texas.
In his professional life, Mickey worked as a Tax Collector for the Louisiana Department of Revenue and City of New Orleans. His education was at Aloysius High School in New Orleans (now Brother Martin), St Francis Seminary in Cincinnati Ohio, and Louisiana State University. For his enjoyment, Mickey worked as a Local Radio DJ or Amateur Actor with Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, which presents classic plays & Broadway musicals. He was truly a character! Mickey is also an avid lover of music and singers such as Elvis, Sinatra, ABBA, Buddy Holliday and the Rat Pack. When not listening to music he is following baseball and rooting for the Yankees.
Mickey is predeceased by his mother, Marguerite Dorcey Leach; father, Martin Lawrence Leach; Aunts Shirley Dorcey Regan, Lillian Pardo; Uncle Bernard M Dorcey, Cousin Kathleen Regan Selbach and Godson Lawrence T Wehner III. He is survived by Aunt Marilyn Rita Dorcey, Cousins Diane Burke Fabra, Bernard H Dorcey (Bernie), Judy Interanto, Thomas Dorcey and Godchildren Rita Wehner Tobias, Jackie Wehner Gordon, Allen Wehner, Alexander Girau, Christina Girau, and Rita Marie Girau.
The family would like to wish St. Martha's Catholic Church in Kingwood, Texas for being the extra hands and feet in assisting in Mickey's day to day errands and social activities through their ministries Young at Heart and Second Family. We also thank the Rosa Mystica and other prayer groups that Mickey loved to participate in.
