Lawrence "Larry" Woods, 87, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017. Family will receive guests on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Lawrence worked 44 years at Airco Industrial gasses, as a service technician for the southeastern area of the country. He founded A-1 fire protection in the mid 1960's, which continues to be a very successful family owned and operated business here in Olive Branch, MS. His favorite pastimes included listening to gospel music, watching Alabama football, and yelling "ROLL TIDE". As the patriarch of the family, he offered a listening ear and sound advice. He enjoyed nothing more than organizing a family gathering that was sure to include a fish fry or a bar-b-q. He is preceded in death by his parents Buster and Vera Mae Woods, sister Louise Woods, brothers Robert Lee and Billy Woods, his oldest daughter Janice Woods Ennis, and two wives; Dorothy Dean Woods and then Ollie Rhodes Woods. He is survived by his step-mother Callie Woods, 3 brothers and 7 sisters, 2 step-sons, 1 step daughter, and 8 step grandchildren. He was "Uncle Lawrence" to an abundance of nieces and nephews. He leaves his daughter, Sandra Woods Wilson, two grandsons, Justin Matthew Ennis (Bethany), and Nicholas Bruce Wilson (Megan), and two great granddaughters, Charlie Joyce Wilson and Addison Grace Ennis. Pallbearers will include nephews and great nephews. Officiating services will be provided by Gary Linville (nephew) and Matt Moore (pastor, Cedar View Baptist Church). In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
