Lawrence was born on June 3, 1941 and passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Lawrence was a resident of Vass, North Carolina at the time of passing.

He also earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge, a graduate of the Special Forces Underwater Operations/Combat Diver School, and the Master Parachutist's Badge having participated in more than 600 logged airborne operations.

Larry retired as the Command Sergeant Major of US Central Command after 27 years of cumulative active duty service with the US Army.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, NC on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Fort Bragg, NC.
