Lenora Harrell McCarn passed away on December 12, 2017 at Regency Retirement Village in Homewood, Alabama, and will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is at 10:00 AM, with funeral services at 11:00AM on December 18th, 2017. She was the matriarch of our family for almost 95 years and will be missed and remembered by all of us. Mom suffered as many did during the Great Depression, and lived anxiously during World War 2 while our dad, Arthur Lamar Harrell, was in the USAAC.

Born on February 7,1923, one of ten children, to Lula and Lee Roberts in Birmingham, and was always in charge of any and everything that was going on at the time. She had remarkable organizational skills. While a strict disciplinarian, we all knew she loved us and protected us as good mothers do.

Our dad died in 1978 and Mom remarried five years later, at age 82, to a wonderful widower gentleman they had gone to church with. His name was Jack McCarn but we called him 'Papa Jack' and he has since passed away also.

She is survived by Wayne Lamar Harrell of Boligee, Alabama and his Wife Michal Hill Harrell, along with Arthur Kevin Harrell, and his wife Allison Taylor Harrell of Chicago, Illinois. She was pre-deceased by our Brother, Barry Ray Harrell, of Birmingham, Alabama. His wife, Beverly Jones Harrell continues to reside in Birmingham. In addition, eight grandchildren, ten Great-Grandchildren, and four Great-Great-Grandchildren who still called her "Nanny"!

Pallbearers are Jimmy Hall, Gary Moon, Ethan Harrell, Joseph Harrell, Brent Harrell, and Aaron Harrell.

Please join us in thanking our Lord and Savior in celebrating a life well lived that had meaning and purpose for anyone who knew her.

Family will receive friends Monday December 18, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
