Leo R. Buehler, age 86, of 8846 North St. Kettlersville, OH, died 1:40 AM Friday November 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1927, in McCartyville, OH, to Raymond and Dora (Meyer) Buehler and they preceded him in death. He was married September 4, 1954, in Minster, OH to Mary L. Bernard and she died November 27, 2006. He is survived by his children Phil & Joan Buehler, Kettlersville; Jeff & Jill Buehler, St. Henry; Steve & Alejandra Buehler, Omaha, NE; Joanie & Mike Prueter, Kettlersville; Teresa & Ben Harshbarger, Botkins and David Buehler, Brooksville, FL. 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren survive. An infant son Joseph Buehler is deceased. He is also survived by sisters Virginia Boerger, Minster and Joan & Mark Krabbe, Hamilton, a brother John Buehler, Dayton, a sister-in-law Dorothy Buehler, McCartyville, brother-in-law Merlin & Mary Bernard, Minster. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Roman Buehler , Orville Buehler and Raymond Buehler and 2 brothers-in-law Clarence Boerger and Stan & Adele Bernard. Leo was a retired lifetime farmer, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church McCartyville, National Director of the National Farmers Organization, former Kettlersville Mayor and Councilman, 36 Years on Van Buren Township Fire Dept., Knights of Columbus, McCartyville, Veteran of WWII and Korean Wars in the Navy, Anna American Legion and the youngest Legion Commander in the nation at that time. He will receive full military honors at the graveside. A mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 AM Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, Rev. John Tonkin Presider. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church. Memorial Donations may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster is in charge of the arrangements.
