Leo Gilbert Shaw, 87, of Albion, Illinois passed from this life to the next on April 19, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 21, 1929 in Albion to Amy M. (Fewkes) and John F. Shaw. He married Faye Perkins on May 18, 1950 at the Presbyterian Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and she survives.

Leo was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, and a 4-H leader along with Faye for several years. He was a Veteran, a member of ILICA and past president, and a member of Little Prairie Christian Church. He also served as a member of the Browns Volunteer Fire Department. He loved cowboy movies, his kids, and his grandkids. His favorite quote, "Did you check the oil?" will always bring a smile to his family!

He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Faye; one daughter, Angie (John) Garrett of Olney, Illinois; one son, Lester (Eugenia) Shaw of Albion; three grandchildren: Eric (Tesa) Shaw, Lesley (Ed) Black, and Todd (Amber) Garrett; two great-grandchildren: Kami Shaw and Peyton Garrett, and "one on the way that will carry Leo's name." He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elbert and Howard Shaw.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Little Prairie Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Military Honors will be conducted outside the church immediately following the service. Family and friends are encouraged to dress casually.

Memorials may be made to the Little Prairie Christian Church Building Fund or the Albion Senior Citizens Center.
