Leona Murphy Tatem, 95, passed away on October 28, 2017. She was born in Princess Anne County on May 9, 1922 to the late Sandy W. Murphy and Mary LaBarrer Murphy. She is also predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Otis L. Tatem. She is survived by her sister, Joycelyn Murphy of Norfolk, VA, and many other beloved family members. One of her favorite lyrics was from a popular song released in 1933 by Harold Arlen, Yip Harburg, and Billy Rose. It reads: "You say it's only a paper moon sailing over a cardboard sea, but it wouldn't be make believe if you believe in me." She gave willingly to those who needed help. She lived long and loved her Lord Jesus. She rests in His everlasting arms.
A Celebration of Life will be held graveside on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Charity United Methodist Cemetery.
