Leonard George Tubbs, Jr., known as Lenny to his friends and Paw to his grandchildren, longtime resident of New Orleans and recently of Christwood in Covington, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018. He was born in 1929 in Ossining, New York, graduated from the Canterbury School and Brown University, and served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard. He had a lifelong career in the marine insurance industry, was an avid sailor and was a member of the Southern Yacht Club. He also enjoyed birding and bird photography.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Johanna Murnin Tubbs and Leonard George Tubbs, Sr., his wife, Joel Duvic Tubbs, and his infant son Robert. He is survived by his sons, Leonard G. "Trip" Tubbs, III (Joanne) of Houston, Texas, John T. "Tommy" Tubbs of Folsom, Kevin M. Tubbs (Alledia) of Arabi and Michael F. Tubbs of New Orleans. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Alison Frisch (Richard) of Bethesda, Maryland, Lucinda Flowers of Metairie, and Amelie Schoel (Manuel) of Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, 1010 Common St, Ste. 2120, New Orleans, LA 70112, where Lenny enjoyed volunteering at the Book Fair in his retirement.
