Graveside services for Mr. Leonard Jackson Hogue were held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Ripley Family Cemetery in Union with Revs. Jack Foster and Bragston Miley officiating. Stephens Funeral in Union is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hogue, 91, of Union, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during World War II. He also served as a Pastor for the Pentecostal Church and in the Carpenters Union in Alaska and California. He loved being a father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and working in his garden at home. Among his biggest accomplishments, he published a series of books called The Ecstasy of Freedom, I, II and III.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Hogue.

Mr. Hogue is survived by his daughters: Sandra Horne of Union and Karen Bray of Bakersfield, CA; a son, Mark Hogue of Bakersfield, CA; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Maynard, Neal Maynard, Kelly Horne, Gregory Ripley, Fred Beil and Steve Robinson
