Leroy Homer "Zock" Zochert, age 83, of Plano, entered his Heavenly home on Friday, November 17, 2017.
Zock was born on August 16, 1934, in Oak Park, Illinois, to the late Harold and Augusta (Breivogel) Zochert. Zock went on to proudly serve our country as a Captain Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from Foley's (now known as Macy's), where he was employed as the Vice President of Credit Department & Theft.
He was a true man of faith, and lived it out each day. Zock was known for his sense of humor, especially his corny jokes. He was a gifted story teller, who found the good in every person and every situation. Zock will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, Zock was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores "Doe" Zochert; daughter, Lisa Griffith; son, Mitchell Zochert; and sister, Joan Hocking. He is survived by two sons, Roland (Cathi) Zochert of Portland, Oregon and Hal Zochert of Austin, Texas; and three grandchildren, Kyle Zochert, Jesse Zochert, and Marley Rose Zochert.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 6-8pm in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 1pm in the funeral home. Zock will be laid to rest next to his sweetheart, Doe, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
