Lila Ruth Birmingham, 86, Colorado City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 7, 2017 while staying at the Mitchell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Colorado City.
She was born on June 10, 1931 to Henry Ray and Bess Love Monroe in Burkburnett, TX
Lila was a woman who spent her life devoted to her faith and to her family, always sacrificing for others, even if it meant that she went without. Family was very important to her and up until she could no longer do so she made sure to keep in touch with all her family. She loved doing things that kept her mind sharp. She would make sure to read her Bible daily and keep up with her Daily Devotionals. In her spare time she was an avid reader, a crossword enthusiast, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing scrabble. She also enjoyed cooking. Everyone that knew her, knew that she was a kind and gentle person, and of her strong faith.
Lila is survived by her husband James Birmingham, formally of Colorado City, by her son Mark Muller and wife Janice q of New Mexico, by her daughter Pat Muller of Round Rock and by her step-daughters Lynda Turnbull of Odessa and Vicki Hubbard of Graham . Also surviving is her granddaughter Amanda Thompson, and her brothers Clarence Monroe and wife Peggy of Friona and Wayne Monroe and wife Nelda of Amarillo, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Joey Muller.
A funeral service for Lila will be held at the First Baptist Church of Colorado City on Monday, December 11th at 10 am with Doctor Jerry Shields officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Sunday, December 10th from 6-8 pm at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
