Lillian Clara Schlensker (nee Fellwock) passed away, on January 23, 2018 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of John and Norma (nee Ritt) Fellwock and was born and raised in Evansville, IN. She graduated from F. J. Reitz High School and from Protestant Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1945 as a registered nurse and served in that capacity for many years. She married Alfred O. Schlensker in 1947. They were married for 42 years before he died of cancer. Her hobbies were knitting, gardening & traveling. She enjoyed camping with the family from east coast to west coast. Lil walked the Great Wall of China, followed the missionary steps of St. Paul & when she was 90, kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland. She loved being involved in LWML activities and attended many retreats & conventions. Lillian is survived by her daughters Jo Anne (Ed) Furniss and Christine (Fred) Wittman both of Vanderburgh County, and Pastor Daniel (Carol) Schlensker of Bodfish, CA. She is survived by grand children: Heidi Smith, Ryan Hart, Jon Hart, Erin Chapin, Tim Schlensker, Philip Schlensker, Michael Wittman & Brian Wittman and step grandchildren Allen Furniss, KD Hemmer & Ward Furniss, 12 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren, a sister, Susan (Norm) Kendt of Louisville, KY, and brothers, Louis (Helga) Fellwock of Ft. Smith, AR, Charles (Linda) Fellwock of Evansville, and David (Martha) Fellwock of Blackjack, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Darmstadt, IN or Indiana District LWML, C/O Barb Hamm, 1016 Orlando Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46825-4040. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and management at Transcendent Health Care, South of Boonville for the excellent care given to Lil and her family during her last days. Viewing will be Thursday, January 25th from 3 pm until 7 pm at Alexander Funeral Home, North. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Darmstadt on Friday, January 26th at 11am, with viewing from 10 am until service time. Interment will be at a later date in Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt Cemetery.
