Lillian V. Jamail passed away in Houston, TX on January 13, 2018 and will be reunited with her beloved mother, Marie, and sister and best friend, Louise, who passed in 2013. Lillian was born May 8, 1926 in Houston, the sixth of ten children (seven daughters and three sons) of Marie and Assad F. Jamail and was only the second of the Jamail children to be born in the U.S. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston as a member of the National Honor Society and multi-year winner of the Texas Latin Tournament. Following high school, she entered the oil & gas business with Houston Oil Co. and for many years served in the Land Department of Atlantic Richfield in Dallas - one of the first female land representatives in the country. During her long career with ARCO Lillian travelled every weekend to Houston to be with the Jamail family and to assist with the care for her mother and older brother. She delighted in being referred to as feisty, a badge she deserved and wore with honor most of her life. Lillian's faith and family were the most important bedrocks of her life. She followed with great interest and compassion the growth, achievements, heartaches and birthdays of her siblings, their children and their children's children. One of the things of which she was most proud was having arranged a blind date with a co-worker with her niece Judy which led to a 45 year and counting marriage.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents Marie and Assad Jamail and brothers, Fred, Owen and Edmund Jamail and by her sisters Marcelle Jamiel, Jeanette Bedell, Adele Maack and Louise Jamail. She leaves to mourn her passing her sisters Marguerite Fisher and Marolyn Thies and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Lillian's family extends their deepest appreciation to Elicia London, who has been Lillian's caregiver, companion and dear friend over the past few years.

A funeral service for Lillian Jamail will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Chapel of Angels, Forest Park Lawndale - 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston. A visitation will be held immediately prior to the service but respecting Lillian's wishes there will be no viewing. Interment in the Jamail Family plot will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation -- jdrf.org/memorial
