Linda Anne (Via) Pokusa Brown of the Skyline motel, Waynesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28,2017 evening at age 66. She was the widow of the late Ray Brown, Staunton.
Linda was born October 18th, 1951 in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Curtis Edward Via and Maude (Adcock) Via Sheppard.
She was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. Linda studied to become a CNA and cared for the elderly. She also completed various training in different job fields.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving step-father, John Edwards Sheppard; as well as her grandparents.
Linda is survived by her sister, Sue (Via) Hoover Siron of Churchville, who is the last immediate member of the Via family; her three children, Kimberly Pokusa Lackner, Heidi Lynn Pokusa Painter and Stan Edward Pokusa; the father of her children, Stan Edward Pokusa, Sr.; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Grubert Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Jerry Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of service.
Linda had so much love for her family and friends. She was full of joy and had a smile that could light up an entire room. She was a genuine lovely lady who had a special love for people and will be leaving so many good friends behind. We hope that she'll be reunited with them in Heaven one day. Linda had a passion for gardening and indoor greenery.
