Linda J. Hambrick, 64 of East Peoria, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:15 am. She was in her home surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born September 15, 1952 in Peoria, IL to Jimmy and Dolly (Braden) McDonald. Linda married Jerry Hambrick on September 26, 1979 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Danette, Sean and his girlfriend Stephanie, Bobby and his wife Jill, Patrick and his wife Ali, and Shane and his wife Tracy; her grandchildren, Joseph, Nikki, Sean Jr., Austin, Jaylin, Gage, Zaine, Truman, Leland, Holden and Orion; five great grandchildren; her sister Betty and brother Jack and his wife Bonnie.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Jimmy and her sister, Josephine.

Linda was a woman of faith and as such she read her bible daily. She loved God and others. She was an Oblate for St. Benedict’s Abbey in Bartonville and as such was very devoted to her church and church family.

As a musician, she played guitar and piano, loved to sing and write songs.

She was an instructor for Tai Chi and she also practiced Reiki. Upon her diagnosis with cancer, she chose an holistic approach to treatment.

Linda loved to travel with her husband Jerry in their RV, visiting many states on their journeys but none so special to her as the Florida Keys.

Though she had a successful career as a paralegal and also at Caterpillar Inc, she found her greatest fulfillment in becoming a homemaker and caring for her grandchildren for the last several years.

Linda’s devotion to her family was unconditional and they will miss her greatly and cherish her memory always.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria.
