Linda L. Balder, 67, of Berlin, died on August 24, 2008 at St. John's Hospice. Linda was born July 20, 1941 in Berlin, the daughter of Paul and Ruth Bell Wake. She married Ron Balder on June 12, 1971 at West Side Christian Church with Rev. Charlie Lee, officiating. After graduating from Williamsville High School, Linda worked for Illinois Bell for 10 years, then Town and Country Bank. She then worked for the State of Illinois, retiring after 30 years of service. While working for the state, she also worked part time for Capital Teletrack. Linda enjoyed being outdoors; especially mushroom hunting and fishing. More than anything, she loved family get-togethers and being with her family. Preceding Linda in death were her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ron; her sons, Gregory B. and Christopher T. Balder; her daughter, Natalie S. (husband, Scott) Nichols all of Berlin; four grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Jordan, and Rachael; one uncle, three nephews, and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin, IL 62670. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Lee, officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Wreath Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Berlin Fire and Rescue, 206 West Illinois, New Berlin, IL 62670 or St. John's Hospice, 800 E. Carpenter St., Springfield, IL 62702.
